Sushi is a very popular and tasty Japanese delicacy. To learn how to make sushi, it is important the different kinds of sushi as well as various recipes like the Dragon Roll and the Maki Roll.

Sushi is one of the most popular, tasty and enticing dishes that originated in Japan. Aside from the attractive presentation of the delicacy, many people like to try the dish because the ingredients used are nutritious and healthy. If you want to prepare and serve the dish in special occasions, it is better that you first identify which kind of sushi you plan to cook. Dragon Roll

Dragon roll is a popular type of sushi. The basic ingredients in this delicacy include two cups sushi rice, two to three nori sheets, 10 medium size shrimps as well as ½ cup tempura. Other than the mentioned ingredients, you will also use an avocado, a long cucumber, 50 grams Tobiko and 50 grams grilled eel.

Pour a tablespoon of water in the tempura and mix. Be sure that the mixture is thick enough to be used as sauce for the dish. Devein and slice the shrimps into small portions. Dip each portion in the sauce. Place pan over medium heat. Pour three cups of vegetable oil in the pan. Wait until the oil is hot. Cook the shrimps for 30 seconds. The shrimps should be deep fried.

Cut the cucumber into several portions. Peal the avocado and put the cooked rice on the sheet. Top the rice with cucumber and shrimps. Put slices of eel on top of the shrimps. Roll the sheet and remove the endings. Cover the top portion of the roll with the peeled avocado layers. Do not forget to spread Tobiko on the dish. Slice the roll based on the structure of a dragon. Place the dish on a plate and serve while hot.

Maki Roll

To cook maki, you need two nori sheets, a cup of cooked rice and ten medium size fish fillets as the fundamental ingredients. The initial step in preparing maki is to spread the sheets and spread rice on the sheets. Allot space at the sides of the sheets. Top the rice with the fish fillets. To make the dish more flavorful, you can top the fish slices with 10 to 15 slices of cucumber and carrot. Roll the sheets and make sure that you apply pressure to close the gaps between the ingredients. After rolling, cut the sheets into several portions. Serve the delicacy with your desired dip.
